Early Primitive Weapon Season Opens in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss.–The early primitive weapon season opened Monday for magnolia state deer hunters.

While deer season has been open for archery hunters since October 1, the rest of the deer hunting world has been waiting for November 23 for regular rifle-season to open in Mississippi.

On Monday those hunters got one step closer with the early primitive weapon season starting and it will run for eleven days until November 22.

Both the Hill Zone and the Delta Zone have this privilege of shooting only does with approved firearms like muzzle loaders or something like a .45-70.

Youth gun season opened up November 9 for kids 15 and under. That season will run until the end of January for most parts of the state.
