Federal Prison For Convicted Felon Who Had Pistol

OXFORD, Miss.–It’s ten years in the federal pen for Jonathan Craig Wren, 44, of Tupelo, after he pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a weapon. The sentence came down in federal co0urt in Oxford.

Wren actually pled guilty in November, but the federal court released info on his sentence this week.

WHAT WENT DOWN

Wren was pulled over by police in Tupelo in June of last year. As police normally do, they ran a check and federal warrants came up for Wren, so they arrested him. They searched his car and found the gun, loaded.

Wren said it wasn’t his, but investigators said they determined Wren had asked someone to steal the gun for him.
