Football Player Found Dead in Mississippi Delta

CLARKSDALE, Miss. – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a Troy University football player.

The body of Jadarius Garner, 20, was found Thursday on Highway 61 near his hometown of Clarksdale.  State troopers say two drivers,  while traveling southbound, hit the body.

Garner transferred to Troy University in Alabama from Jones County Community College and had just finished his second season with the team.  “This is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers go out to Jadarius’ family in this time of grief,” said Troy Head Football Coach Larry Blankeney.  “Jadarius Garner will be remembered here as a guy who was very positive.  He was very well liked… and I will certainly miss Jadarius Garner.”
