Former MDOC Commissioner and Rankin County School Board President Face 49 Count Indictment

JACKSON, Miss. – Former Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) Commissioner Christopher Epps, who resigned Wednesday, is expected to appear in federal court Thursday on a 49 count indictment along with former Rankin County School Board President Cecil McCrory. McCrory owns Corrections Communications Inc. and resigned as School Board President Tuesday. Their arraignment is scheduled at 1:00 p.m.

According the Clarion Ledger Epps’ home in Flowood, a beachfront condo in Pass Christian, and two Mercedes-Benz sedans were sized by the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Epps has served as commissioner since 2002 and was first appointed by Ronnie Musgrove.
