Good News for Lane Furniture Employees, Most Will Keep Jobs

TUPELO, Miss.–Over 1,400 Lane Furniture Industries workers in north Mississippi have been worried about getting laid off after their parent company filed for bankruptcy a few weeks ago.

Luckily, this week good news came in the way of KPS Capital Partners, according to the Daily Journal, because they have put in a bid of $280 million for Furniture Brands International, which owns Lane Furniture.

At four different manufacturing facilities for Lane it comes as a huge relief that the company says they plan to extend job offers to most of the current employees.

All the legal work is still being sorted out and according to the report the final hearing is set for October 11.
