Heat Advisory Extended Through Monday, No Break in Heat Until Next Week

JACKSON, Miss– The National Weather Service in Jackson says the heat advisory in effect for much of the state will be continued through Monday.

“We’ll see temps from 95 to 98 across the state,” says Mike Edmunston, Senior Meteorologist for the National Weather Service, “the Delta could see the temperature up to 100.”

Edmunston says heat indices will be between 105 and 110 for the state.

“We may not see any relief until midweek, maybe Wednesday or Thursday.”

If you have to be outside, wear sunscreen, loose clothing, take plenty of breaks and drink lots of fluids. Also check on neighbors and pets to make sure they’re handling the heat.
