Having Helped Policeman make Vows, Judge won’t Hear Case of Him Breaking Them

LONG BEACH, Miss. — The preliminary hearing for the Long Beach officer, accused of having sex with a 15-year-old while on the job, has been rescheduled for June 11

Patrick Klis is charged with three counts of sexual battery.  Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner, who was to have presided over the hearing, recused herself because she is friends with Klis’ wife and she also married the couple.

Kils, who was fired from his job in early April, is in jail on a $300,000 bond.
