High water halts recreational boating at Moon Lake

Recreational boating activity has been temporarily suspended at Moon Lake in Coahoma County due to high water.

The suspension impacts only recreational boating and not boating that is related to transportation to and from area homes. All boating activity that is allowable shall be conducted in accordance with a “dead slow; leave no wake” standard.

MDWFP (Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks) has an increased law enforcement presence in the affected area to promote public safety for residents affected by the high water and enforce the wildlife laws that protect animals affected by flooding.
