Independence Day Weather: Just About Perfect, Not Too Hot, No Rain

JACKSON, Miss.–All across Mississippi you can expect a dry July 4, with no rain and temps that are somewhat cooler than you might expect on Independence Day.

Eric Carpenter, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said there are virtually no spots in Mississippi where rain could be a threat to your fireworks or grilling activities.

“Really for Mississippi, it’s just about perfect weather, as far as the Fourth of July goes,” he said.

“It look like we’re looking at highs in the mid to upper 80s. Mostly below 90. Less humid than we normally experience.”

He said the dry weather also should not give you any cause for concern when shooting off fireworks. He said it would take much drier conditions for much longer to present any high risk for fire danger.

Carpenter also said you can expect a really nice weekend.

“We’re not expecting any weather issues,” he said.
