JACKSON, Miss. – Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Dominic Hospital. That was confirmed by the Hinds Coroner. No word on how he died.
Mayor Lumumba had been battling health problems in the past. He had beaten prostate cancer in 2000.
The former Jackson City Councilman won Jackson’s mayoral election in 2013, winning 86 percent of the vote.
