OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. – It was an Ocean Springs Upper Elementary school teacher that got called to the principal’s office this time. The 6th grade teacher is in trouble for taping one of her student’s mouth shut with duct-tape and making him sit in a corner for 10 minutes.
Classmates say the boy was being punished for talking too much. It happened last month,but school administrators didn’t find out about it until last week.
Ocean Springs’ Superintendent calls the teacher’s actions “unacceptable.” She confirms the teacher has been disciplined, but did not say, citing privacy laws, what action was taken. The student has been moved to another classroom.
