HICKORY FLAT, Miss.–It was a three car wreck in Ittawamba County Thursday that killed Hickory Flat softball Coach Crystal Cleveland. Coroner Steve McNeese said she died at the scene.
The wreck happened about 5:50 p.m. on Hwy. 371 in the Ozark community and now the Highway Patrol is investigating the possibility that one of the other drivers fell asleep and veered over.
When Cleveland’s car was hit, she ran off the road, down a hill and hit several trees.
WTVA reports Cleveland was from Mantachie and was a softball standout at Ittawamba Community College. She was in her second year at Hickory Flat.
