Man Accused of Killing Family Denied Bond

COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. – The man accused of killing a family from Brandon was denied bond Wednesday. Tuesday, Timothy Lydell Burns lead deputies to a shack in rural Copiah County that housed the bodies of 7-year-old Jaidon Hill, 30-year-old Atira Smith, and 34-year-old Laterry Smith.

Timothy Lydell Burns is facing charges of arson and two counts of murder. The third murder charge is expected to come out of Hinds County. Investigators believe Laterry Smith was killed near south Jackson.

The family was first reported missing Friday after their car was found burnt in a ditch in Copiah County.
