March Brings April Showers, At Least for Today

Jackson, Miss–One could guess the April showers are already on the March…as in a March first with showers and thunderstorms likely in many parts of Mississippi.

Let’s start in the northern part of the state with that 70 percent of precipitation in the form of the aforementioned thunderstorms today. Breezy this afternoon with winds at 15 mph. Today’s high should hover around 69 with the possibility of thunderstorms this evening, turning to showers overnight with a low around 39. Tomorrow should be sunny with a high of 52.

Central Mississippi, today will dawn rainy before turning into showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon, accompanied by a cloudy high near 75. Gusty winds as high as 20 MPH.

Showers and thunderstorms continuing throughout the night with clearing toward dawn and sunshine tomorrow with a high of 62.
In the Southern sector, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon along with a high of 73 and some spotty sunshine. 40 percent chance of showers and t-storms lingering into the overnight hours, hitting a low of around 48 before tomorrow’s mostly sunny high of 66.
