Mississippi Blues Musicians’ Gravesite Preservation

Mississippians are proud of their blues heritage (we even have a museum dedicated to the accompaniments of our musicians), yet often we forget about preserving their final resting place.

Sure, their music lives on in our hearts, but it takes time, energy and resources to keep their gravesite kept for future generations to enjoy.

That’s where, DeWayne Moore, the director of the Mt. Zion Memorial Fund which honors numerous musicians in rural cemeteries without grave markers in the MS Delta, comes to the rescue.
