Mississippi State Heads West for the First Round of the NCAA Tournament

It may be the East Regional, but Mississippi State will make their long awaited return to the NCAA Tournament on the West Coast, as the Bulldogs have earned a five seed, and will take on Liberty on Friday in San Jose, CA. Mississippi State was in the first group of teams announced, matched up with the number one overall seed in the tournament, Duke. Here’s the reaction of the team as they discovered their destination.

Coach Howland spoke with the media following the bracket announcement, and spoke of his great love for this tournament, calling it “the greatest sporting event we have.” Howland said he had already sent his assistants to begin collecting film on Liberty, and he is excited to prepare his team for his first tournament berth here in Starkville.

Mississippi State and Liberty will tip off Friday at a yet to be disclosed time, and of course, you can hear Neil Price and Coach Richard Williams on your local SuperTalk affiliate for all the action.
