Are Mississippi Students Getting Enough Exercise?

JACKSON, Miss. – Your kids become less fit as they get older according to a new study on obesity in Mississippi. The study also shows that black students are usually more out of shape than white students and girls even more out of shape than boys. Not only that, students in the state are typically less fit than children in other states.

Currently state law mandates at least 30 minutes a day of physical activity for students in kindergarten through the eighth grade. In high school only one semester of physical activity is required.
