Mississippi’s Special Olympics Athletes Bring Home the Gold from World Games

JACKSON, MISS–  Athletes from Special Olympics Mississippi are making their way home from Los Angeles today, and they’re not coming home empty handed.

Kyle Dietel of Brandon won three gold medals for equestrian competitions, while unified team Taylor Rosenthal and his father Bill Rosenthal of Shannon won a Silver medal in golf.

Dietel had been through the games before, bringing home bronze and silver medals.

“This is his third world games,” says President and CEO of Special Olympics Mississippi Tony Bahou, “Kyle really surprised himself I think.”

The games were in Los Angeles, California, and the athletes return today. Bahou says Special Olympics Mississippi invites you to celebrate their homecoming at the Jackson Evers International Airport around 3:45. But if you can’t be there, there’s another way to show them love.

“Wish them well on our social media page, on our Facebook page or Twitter page,” says Bahou, “you can meet them in person at the airport, or wish them well on our social media.”
