OHS Day 10: Fighting Through Back Pain (Ryno)

When Ryno first tried to get fit a couple years back, he would push himself a little too far and his back would tighten up. Back then, he would’ve taken a day or two off to let his body recover, but that was before he had a better understanding of why his back was getting tight. If you experience tightness/soreness in your lower back after exertion, find your hip-flexor(a thin muscle that runs from the outside of your hip, across your quad, and connects on the inside of your leg – near the knee) and massage it. You can use a foam roller/PVC pipe/can of soup/tennis ball/etc to work out the tightness in your hip-flexor, and you’ll notice a relief in your back tightness almost immediately!
