Parking Problems at the Biloxi Baseball Stadium

BILOXI, Miss. – Concerns rise with the new baseball stadium being built to seat 6,000 people with only 2,000 parking spots and no parking garage.

Going to any large event can be a good time, but getting there and parking, not so much. The new Biloxi baseball stadium is proposed to seat 6,000 people, but raises questions and concerns for a new parking garage to be built.

The developers don’t want to take down any historic buildings to build the garage and they believe there’s enough room for everyone as there is at 2000 spots, for the first year anyways.

Residents are worried people are going to be parking in front of their houses and don’t want hundreds of thousands of people parking there and walking by their houses to get to the stadium.

Community Development Director Jerry Creel reported to WLOX that he believes the people will walk through downtown, not through the residential areas. The point is for visitors to have to walk through downtown Biloxi so that they will pass restaurants and shops to support downtown businesses.
