A Pathway to Progress

JACKSON, Miss. The Mississippi Economic Council will kick off its 19-city Pathway to Progress tour Tuesday in Columbus.

“The idea is basically to share some of the great economic successes that Mississippi is experiencing,” said MEC President and CEO Blake Wilson.  “For example, we are one of only four states out of basically the southern states that have recovered to pre-recession level.”

The group will make another stop this week in Moss Point. As part of the tour, five other meetings will be held this December, seven in January and the final five in February.  Tuesday’s session will discuss the implementing of goals and recommendations of Blueprint Mississippi. The Blue Print is a set of policy recommendations for improving workforce training, health care, education and infrastructure.
