Running a Chop Shop for the Gang: Clinton Police Pick Up Eight People

CLINTON, MISS– Clinton Police picked up eight people Friday for running a chop shop. Police say they may have tied to the Simon City Royals Gang. 

You’ve heard of the Simon City Royals before. In July, a woman in Pascagoula was kidnapped and beaten as part of the SCR activity.

Now more members of the group have been found, this time in Clinton: Sarah Roberson, Micheal Lewis, Travis Williams, Perry Bolton, Jared Cook, Echo Funderburk, Emily Summers and Ashley Goodson.

Roberson,  a 29 year old Clinton native was charged with four counts of receiving stolen property, one count of having chop shop altered property, one count of conspiracy, one count of possession for Oxycodone, and one count of possession for Xanax.

Lewis, a 24 year old Clinton native, was charged with four counts of receiving stolen property, one count of having chop shop altered property, one count of conspiracy to receive stolen property, one count of possession of a weapon by a felon, as well as an outstanding warrant with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office.

Williams, 30, of Jackson, was charged with one county of chop shop altered property, one count of receiving stolen property, and one count of conspiracy to receive stolen property.

Bolton, 33,  of  Richland 33 was charged with conspiracy to receive stolen property and had an outstanding warrant with Byram Police Department.

Cook, 32,  of Jackson, was charged with one count of conspiracy to receive stolen property.

Funderburk, 31 of Jackson was charged with one count conspiracy to receive stolen property,  one count of receiving stolen property and had an outstanding felony warrant with MDOC for a probation violation.

Summers, 22 of Florence was charged with one  count of receiving stolen property and one count of conspiracy to receive stolen property.

Goodson, 22 of Jackson was charged with one count of  conspiracy to receive stolen property.

Police say everything that was found to be stolen was from all over the Greater Jackson area.
