Second worker found at Green Brothers Gravel in Crystal Springs

COPIAH COUNTY, MISS–Copiah County Emergency Management and the Mississippi Emergency Management agencies have been notified that Green Brothers Gravel Company has located its second employee, trapped inside the slurry at the incident site.  The worker was located at approximately 9:50PM on Friday night.

Mississippi’s “Task Force Two” helped recover that worker.  Officials are not releasing the name of the recovered employee at this time.

The worker was found in a portion of the slurry near the equipment he was operating.  The first worker was recovered on Thursday morning at approximately 1:30AM, inside the cab of the equipment he was operating.

Green Brothers, Mine Safety and Health Administration and Copiah County EMA assumed unified command of recovery operations and the overall incident site, on June 8th at 10AM.

MEMA and other state resources have provided support to the operation as requested.
