On the Other Side of the Bars: Extortion Charge for Mississippi Officer

HAZLEHURST, Miss.–Taking money to fix a ticket is the accusation against Hazlehurst police officer LaGracha Amon Carter-Boyd, 25. He was arrested Monday by the Copiah County sheriff and agents with the attorney general’s office, said Atty. Gen. Jim Hood.

Carter-Boyd was indicted by a Copiah County grand jury. The indictment said Boyd was on duty when he offered to fix the ticket that he had written.

Hood said Carter-Boyd could get five years if he is convicted.
