Speaks Waives Extradition to Louisiana to Face Music For Death of New Orleans Dancer

KENNER, Louis– A missing New Orleans dancer’s body parts washed up in the Mississippi Sound in 2012. Now police say the guy responsible is headed to Louisiana to face the music.

It’s the murder of Jaren Lockhart, the dancer from New Orleans. She was chopped up and tossed, then her body parts washed up in Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian in June 2012. Now the man police say is responsible is on a fast track to Louisiana. Terry Speaks was serving time for not registering on the sex offender list in New York when he waived extradition to Louisiana. That means the cops only have 10 days to get him instead of 30. Speaks should arrive in Louisiana next week.

Police say Speaks and his partner Margaret Sanchez killed Lockhart, dismembered her, then tossed her remains into the Mississippi Sound. Lockhart’s torso and other parts washed up along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Speaks and Sanchez are looking at charges of second-degree murder, conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstructing justice.
