Student Arrested in Harrison County for Bringing a Gun to SchoolA

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss.- a 16-year-old student has been arrested and is in custody after bringing a gun to school. 

Deputies responded to Harrison Central High School where a male student was said to have had a gun. They located the student and brought him in for questioning. After searching his backpack police say they found a hand gun, but it was not loaded.

WLOX reported that the student told deputies he brought the gun with him because he wanted to protect himself. He said he felt fearful after the recent school shootings all over the country.

They don’t know where the student got the gun just yet, but he was transported to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center after his arrest.
