MADDEN, Miss. – A perhaps shameful end to a stellar career.
Famed Leake Academy girls head basketball coach Doyle Wolverton has resigned after being accused of biting a player on the cheek during a game in Marion County last week. However, the girl’s parents will not press charges against him.
Wolverton holds national ranking in the top in the number of wins for high school girls’ basketball. He was inducted into the Miss. Private Schools Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009.
He is a 37 year veteran of Leake Academy in Madden.
