Threatening Voicemail to Reporter Leads Pearl River County Man to Jail

PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MISS– Wayne Torres made a phone call and what he had to say landed him in the pen.

A voicemail left for a WDAM employee hinted at a possible shooting for a local movie theater. Wayne C.Torres of Pearl River County is in the lock up now for making terror threats. In the voicemail, Torres said

“I just wanted to find out if you wanted to talk to somebody to find out why they do what they do when they go to these theaters and shoot up people.Apparently, it’s not that important. So, uh, I was hoping to give you the insight before it happens. Alright. Thanks.”

Torres also claimed to be suicidal, homicidal, and that he’d been seeking help for ten years. His history with the Mississippi Department of Corrections is even deeper, with past charges of assault, burglary, vandalism, and now making terror threats, reports WDAM.
