Two Deadly Wrecks in Jones County, One Head On, The Other a T-Bone

JONES COUNTY, Miss.–There were two wrecks in Jones County this weekend where people died. One was a head-on near Ellisville. The other was a t-bone when a woman tried to cross Hwy. 28.

In the head-on wreck, Edward Wade, 58, of Laurel, died when the Chevy Malibu he was driving hit a pickup head-on on Hwy. 590, near Ellisville, close to I-59, according to the Miss. Highway Patrol. The wreck happened Sunday morning.

Wade died at the hospital in Laurel.

The driver of the truck, Webber Graham, is in the hospital, as is Willie Wade, who was Edward Wade’s passenger in the Malibu.

In the wreck on Hwy. 28, Emma Walters, 19, was driving Bettye Overall, 74, when she crossed Hwy. 28 in front of a pickup. The two women were hit from the side. Overall died at the hospital in Laurel after being airlifted there.
