Two Family Members Murdered in Oxford Subdivision

OXFORD, Miss.–Two family members were shot dead in an Oxford subdivision early Friday morning according the Oxford Police Department.

OPD received a call at 6:00 a.m. to come to 292 County Road 301 in South Oaks subdivision because of a shooting and found two people dead when they arrived.

The two have been identified as Dr. Carol Lavett Gary, 43-years-old, and Patrick Earl Gary Jr., 12-years-old.

Dr. Carol Gary was principal of Davidson Elementary School in the Water Valley School district and has been confirmed by the school.

Multiple reports suggest that one person is in custody now and being questioned and calls are out to the OPD.

No names of any suspects or a motive have been released as this time.
