Two Men Claim Responsibility for Death of Greenville War Veteran

GREENVILLE, MISS– Geblonski Murray and Edward Johnson plead guilty the 2013 killing of 87-year-old Lawrence Thornton.

Thornton was a World War 2 veteran and known as the ‘Hot Tamale King.”

Murray and Johnson attacked Thornton while robbing him in his own driveway in 2013. Thornton died a couple of days later from the injuries.

Murray will serve 45 years, while Johnson will serve 35, reports the Delta-Democrat Times.
