Two People Charged with 249 Counts of Animal Cruelty and Neglect after Police Find 70+ Dogs at House

PICAYUNE, Miss.- More than 70 dogs were found at and around a house in Picayune Friday.

WLOX-TV in Biloxi reports Lynne Hackney and Miles Allen are accused of leaving all of those dogs unattended for weeks in the heat with little food and water.

Police seized the Australian cattle dogs after finding the dogs living in poor conditions.

Hackney and Allen have been charged with 249 counts of animal cruelty and neglect. Police say they were operating a dog breeding business and selling the dogs online.

They will both appear in court Dec. 3 and a judge will make a decision on what should happen to the dogs within the next two weeks.
