MOORHEAD– Two Mississippi community college teams met for more than a game of football on the gridiron Thursday night.
East Mississippi Community College was leading over Mississippi Delta Community College 48-0 as halftime approached, but that clock wouldn’t get a chance to run out.
EMCC kept commanding possession of the ball, driving up the score, reports the Commercial Dispatch. A fight broke loose, and the both teams filled the field in an all-out brawl that took law enforcement rushing the field to break it up. At halftime, the game was suspended.
This is not the first run-in EMCC has dealt with this year. Earlier in the season, a referee was ejected from the game for taking a swing at head coach Buddy Stevens.
