The conclusion to week 8 of Mississippi high school football has many teams around the state licking wounds.

#6 Madison Central is hosting the Warren Central Vikings who have fallen out of the top ten after losing two games this season. Still, the high-powered Viking offense could prove to be trouble for the 5-1 Jaguars who learned some valuable lessons after their 7-point loss to Pearl three weeks ago.

Speaking of Pearl, the #1 Pirates are hitting the road to meet the Terry Bulldogs, who’s quarterback Tyler McDaniel sits at the top of the conference list in total points (72), touchdowns (11, tied with Nataurean Watts of Petal) and rushing yards (793). They could give the undefeated Pirates a run for their money.

More conference play as Meridian hosts Oak Grove, who tumbled out of the top ten following a narrow loss to Petal last week

And Brandon will travel to Petal, facing Panthers QB Jordan Wilson who owns the conference top slot for total passing yards (1316).
