Weekday weather rundown: 3-28-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across the Magnolia state.

In north Mississippi, there is a flood watch in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon through Thursday afternoon. Showers and a chance of thunderstorms are expected today and continuing into the night. Highs will be in the mid-70s. Locally, heavy rainfall is possible, lows will near 60.

In central Mississippi, there is a flash flood watch in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon through Thursday evening. Today, mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers in the morning and a slight chance of thunderstorms during the day and some showers continuing into the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Tonight, a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening and during the night. Showers will continue after midnight Lows will dip down into the mid-60s.

In south Mississippi, there is a coastal flood advisory in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday. Today, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the morning and a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Locally, heavy rainfall is possible in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 80s and at night, cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. There will also be a slight chance of showers after midnight. Patchy fog is expected after midnight. Heavy rainfall is also possible locally. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.
