Woman Lets Son Throw Party, Ends Up With Fine

MOOREVILLE, Miss.- A woman plead guilty Thursday in Lee County Circuit Court and narrowly dodged some jail time in doing so. 47-year-old Angie Floyd plead guilty to something called the Social Hosting Law, and her plea deal included a fine of $500 with $400 in court fees, plus a 90-day suspended sentence.

The party thrown back in January must have really got out of hand, over 100 people attended, at least 70 of them underage there in the presence of alcohol. Her son was hosting it for a 17-year-old girl. There was a rapper brought in, flyers passed out, and social media campaigns as well.

Several juveniles were arrested and taken to Lee County Juvenile Detention Center, and several vehicles were towed at the owners’ expense.
