Would-be high school band assistant busted for marijuana growth op

31 year old Daniel Moore of Okalona was taken in by Monroe County Sheriffs Monday morning.

In an interview with News Mississippi, Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantell said Moore had several plants in his bedroom under lights, with fertilizer and plant growth food. “He had a pretty good operation going” Sheriff Cantrell said.

Moore divulged to deputies he was going to be volunteering with the Amory school band.

According to Sheriff Cantrell, Moore admitted to being a convicted felon for a past possession of LSD charge.

Moore is charged with the manufacture of marijuana with intent.
