FLORENCE, Miss. – Crosses Across America will still get to put up its 110 foot cross in Rankin County. The group first wanted to put the cross up on some land owned by a church in Brandon. Alderman there said no because it’s way too tall.
A restaurant owner in Florence then contacted the group and offered to have the Cross put on his land on Highway 49. “We all walked upon the property. They prayed over the property. And they said, ‘The Lord is just all over this site. We wanna put this (the cross) here,’” explained Carroll Berry. Alderman in Florence gave their blessings.
Crosses Across America will now put the cross up at Berry’s Seafood new location, which is currently under construction.
