13-Year-Old Arrested for Cyber Bullying in Waveland

WAVELAND, Miss. – A 13-year-old girl was arrested in Waveland for cyber bullying. According to cops, she sent out naked pictures of another 13-year-old girl and to other kids.

“Her mother came to us and said she was being bullied online as well as in person by other kids. We did a dump of her cellphone and got some of the messages involved in that,” said Police Chief David Allen.

When the police department got hold of the suspect girl’s phone they found the instances of cyber bulling.

“We found out that our victim had been a victim of “sextortion” by someone else.  Someone had made a fake identity and had convinced her to send naked pictures of herself. Once she sent those first naked pictures this person extorted her for more pictures against her will.”

At some point, whoever got those pictures sent them out anyway. Allen says the suspect girl got  hold of them and harassed the victim in an entirely different way.

The mother of the suspect was also arrested because she had knowledge of what was going on and did nothing about it. Her charges were contributing to the delinquency of a minor and the neglect of a minor

The suspect girl was sent through youth court.
