NATCHEZ, Miss. – You get back from patrolling the streets only to have your wife shoot you.
Natchez Police officer Elvis Prater was shot over the weekend by 42 year-old Violette Prater.
The officer is believed to be fine and is already back home after being treated at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
His wife has been charged with attempted murder.
Investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
