Hattiesburg Police were already on the scene at Roper’s bar on Hwy 49 in Hattiesburg after a driver allegedly jumped a curb, crashed into the busy parking lot, and fired a gun from within the car “10-15 times” according to witnesses.
HPD were providing security at the popular bar, and were able to apprehend the suspect quickly. The situation unfolded just after 1 AM.
Information is still coming in from the incident, but the City of Hattiesburg did give an update on Facebook:
The shooter was transported to the Forrest General Hospital. News Mississippi will have more information as it becomes available.
