On Saturday afternoon Adams County deputies arrived at a home on Rounds Rd. in the Sibley area where they found a child lying in blood on a couch.
An ambulance arrived at the scene and gave medical attention to the injured child. When officers spoke to Joseph Washington, Sr., they were told that Joseph Washington, Jr. was the offender and that he hit the child several times with a metal baseball bat.
According to a media release, Washington, Jr. was placed under arrest for attempted murder and transported to the Adams County Jail where he is being held without bond pending investigation.
It is unclear at this time what relation, if any, the child has to Washington Sr. or Jr. The child’s age was not released.
