Another Miss. Prison Stabbing, This Time an Inmate is Dead

LEAKSVILLE, Miss.–A stabbing at the prison in Leaksville killed 37-year-old inmate Merlin Littleton and a fellow inmate is being questioned. Now the Dept. of Corrections says one of their own may be disciplined.

Dept. of Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps said in a news release that inmate Terrance Bridges, 24, is being questioned in the death.and that someone at the prison would probably be disciplined for failing to follow proper procedure.

Epps did not give out a name or discuss how procedure was violated.

Bridges, who has a long list of offenses while in prison, including violence and possessing cell phones and a shank, is serving 10 years from Jeff Dabis County for aggravated assault and selling drugs.

The victim, Merlin Littleton, was in for 30 years for 30 years for armed robbery in Hinds and Madison counties.
