Arrested for tax fraud

JACKSON, Miss.- A McComb woman was arrested and sentenced to 30 months in prison for trying to defraud the International Revenue Service. 

A federal judge sentenced Brenda Norman, 55, for the time behind bars along with three years of supervised release. Her accomplice was 36-year-old Yvonne Gary from Hermanville. Gary got 32 years behind bars with three years supervised release.

Norman had gotten the names ans social security numbers of elderly and disabled people she knew from a religious organization and was filing fraudulent income tax returns.

The two will also be required to repay $493,111 to the IRS.
