Bacon Brothers to perform at Duling Hall

The Bacon Brothers–film score composer Michael Bacon (Teddy: In His Own Words, HBO; RFK and the Secret Life of the Brain) and renowned actor Kevin Bacon (Footloose, Tremors, Hollow Man)– will bring their musical talents to the stage at 9pm Monday night at Duling Hall in Jackson.

The Brothers both attribute the passion and permission of their parents for their love of music.

“My parents loved music, listening to all kinds of music,” said Michael. “My mom played a little of the harpsichord, but my father was tone deaf.”

Even still, the brothers were introduced to rock, jazz, blues, soul and whatever other music their parents could get their hands on, and encouraged their children to explore.

“I had a drum set, growing up,” said Kevin. “And I was in this soul, jazz-like band in school.”

The Brothers’ bio contributes influences such as Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Motown, Led Zeppelin, Philly soul, James Taylor, Michael of Pete Seeger, Jimmy Rogers, Chet Atkins, and the Jim Kweskin Jug Band.

In a 20  year career, The Bacon Brothers have released 7 albums, with their most recent, “Driver,” which was released last year.
