AMORY, Miss.- After assaulting a basketball coach, a woman turned herself into police.
36-year-old Heather Thompson has been charged with simple assault on a school official. WTVA reports that the alltercation broke out in the gym of Hamilton High School on Thursday night.
Coach Sue Verner was assaulted by Thompson. After the incident Thompson left the gym and Verner was taken to the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and set home.
There is no report of a motive that caused the fight.
