JACKSON, Miss. – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi will not cancel health plans that are not in compliance with Obama Care.
“Instead, we have renewed coverage for individual and group customers through 2014,” said Meredith Virden, company spokesperson. “For those individuals and groups that may qualify for a lower premium due to the new healthcare reform rating rules, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is giving these members the option to choose a 2014 PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) benefit plan or they can keep their existing plan. “
BCBS of Alabama announced earlier this week that it would cancel health plans not in compliance with the law.
