Blood Money Case Ends with Girlfriend to Jail

VICKSBURG, Miss. – A woman is going to jail for stealing her former boyfriend’s identity and getting credit cards in his name while he was  fighting for his life in a hospital room.

Susan Gould, 30, pleaded guilty this week to identity theft and credit card fraud.  She was sentenced to four years in prison.

Prosecutors said Gould lived with Fred Jackson in 2012 when he was severely beaten while working at a salvage yard in Jackson.  After being in a coma for 41 days, Jackson eventually died.  During his time in the hospital, prosecutors said Gould set up multiple credit card accounts in Jackson’s name and wrote checks on his checking account.

The two men accused of beating Jackson are still waiting to go to trial.
