Bomb found at Vicksburg school

VICKSBURG, Miss.- Because of a student tip local authorities were able to locate an IED in the school’s library. 

Captain Williams with the Vicksburg police department reports that students were evacuated around noon on Wednesday from Warren Central Junior High School. When police entered the school the IED, improvised explosive device, was located by a police dog in the schools library.

The bomb was in what appeared to be a backpack. Two individuals have been detained pending the investigation.

Clinton bomb squad was called in and the device was removed and detonated by a robot. No students were harmed in the process and the investigation is ongoing.
