BRANDON, Miss. – The Rankin County School District has approved the song “Nautique” to replace “How Great Thou Art”. The religious song had been featured in the Brandon High School Band’s halftime show, after-which a student filed a lawsuit.
A federal judge ruled that religious activities of any kind, during a school event, is forbidden.
The school could have been fined up to $10,000 per continued violation.
